About NSDP

The National Skills Development Programme (NSDP), under the aegis of the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training is a project announced in the budget 2016/2017 and is being implemented by the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC).

To better match skills with the demand of employers, unemployed individuals will be enlisted for training and placement in technical skills that are in demand. The NSDP is open to all sectors of activity.

The programme targets unemployed individuals having studied up to the Diploma level (equivalent to NQF Level 6) and aged 16 years or older.

The training and placement will be of 3 to 12 months’ duration. The trainees will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 6,000, based on attendance and upon satisfactory participation in the training.
